Processing Specific Pieces Requests

A specific pieces request is similar to categories, but you can tell the customer some of the specific pieces of information that were collected. For example, you can tell them that yes, you collected their address and then tell them what address you have on file. However, there are some restrictions depending on the type of information.

Navigate to the specific pieces request in your Privacy dashboard.

The usual consumer information is at the top. Since you are giving out consumer information, a reasonably-high degree of verification is required.

The consumer must verify the email and phone number that was provided in the request.

You must manually go through the verification process. The consumer provided name, email, phone number, and one more identifier must match your records to be able to process the request.

If the consumer can be verified, click "Next."

In step two, check your DMS and/or CRM for the information listed under each category.

Mark yes or no depending on if that specific piece of information was found in your records.

If yes is marked, enter the consumer's information in the "Value" field.

You have the option to upload a file here.

You can also add an exemption for why you are not listing the information. Click "Learn more" for a description of each exemption.

Click "No" if the information is not found in your records.

Some items are sensitive data and are grayed out. You are unable to share these specific pieces with the consumer because they are protected. The exemption will be automatically filled in.

You have to go through each category listed across the top of the page. Once you have completed all categories, click "Next."

Step four allows you to read and potentially modify the email being sent to the consumer. If you are ready to send the response, click "Finish."

Click "Confirm" to complete the request.
