      Installing Duo on MacOS

      We are excited to offer the ComplyAuto Desktop App as an easy way to install the Duo MFA client!

      In just a few easy steps, you'll have multi-factor authentication setup on your computer via Duo. Before starting, make sure you have downloaded the MacOS installer from your ComplyAuto Esquire dashboard. 

      Step 1: Install the ComplyAuto Desktop Application

      Double-click on the downloaded file, then drag the ComplyAuto icon into your Applications folder.

      Step 2: Open the ComplyAuto Desktop Application

      Open a new Finder window and navigate to your Applications folder. Find the ComplyAuto icon and double-click on it.

      Step 3: Sign In

      Once the ComplyAuto Desktop Application opens, click the button labeled "Sign in to ComplyAuto".

      A browser window will open and take you to the ComplyAuto login page.

      Enter the email address (where you received our welcome email) and click "Sign In." Next, depending on your user account type, you either be prompted to:

      1. Check your email & click on a special link we sent you to finish signing in
      2. Enter your password

      Once you sign in, you will be automatically redirected by to the ComplyAuto Desktop app. You may then close that browser tab.

      Depending on your computer's configuration, you may be prompted to give the browser permission to re-open the app. 

      Step 4: Install MFA with Duo

      On the ComplyAuto Desktop Application landing page, click the "Install" button to the right of the "Install MFA" task.

      Step 5: Enter SMS Phone Number

      Enter the phone number that you would like to use to receive MFA text message (SMS) codes, then click "Save".

      Step 6: Wait for Duo Installer to Finish

      You may see one or more different "Loading" dialog boxes appear, please follow any instructions they provide.

      You may also be prompted to enter an administrator password to finish the installation.

      Step 7: Restart Your Computer

      When the installation is complete, you will be prompted to restart your computer. We highly recommend restarting when prompted, rather than later, because the Duo client does not become active until after a restart.

      Step 8: Login with Duo MFA

      When your computer restarts, after providing your username and password, you will see a new dialog box from Duo. 

      Click "Enter a Password".

      Your phone number has been automatically enrolled already - simply click the "Text me new codes" button, check your phone, enter the code into the text box, and click "Log In"
